Sorry....

Hey everyone!

So sorry I haven't been around much, I have gotten so far behind on alerts I had to delete them....forgive me....

We have been so busy finishing up our landscaping in the front yard, yes it has taken us forever...about 3-4 weeks to be exact....we tore all the old out completely and started from scratch.....but it's looking soooo pretty... I am so proud to say we did it all ourselves when we sit on the porch admiring our work....haha  All we have left to do out front is add our landscaping lights..then it will be done... I am going to add pics...when it's finished ..before and after....

Then we will move on to the backyard landscaping...we are going to totally redo it too.

Sooooo...why am i frustrated as stated in my mood section???

Cause trying to maintain a Pool SUCKS!

Tonight i was ready to have a bonfire and burn it down...to be honest...lol...  Jeff was ready to also.... it's such a pain in the ass...seriously.

This is our 4th summer I think with the pool... First summer... the first pool we had before we even had enough water in it to fill it, a huge storm came and demolished it.... I was a crying mess...but thankfully insurance covered it...or we would have never had another.   The second summer....When we were fixing to open the pool in June....we pulled the cover off the water looked great....we thought heyyy this isn't too bad....treated it as needed and swimmed happily ever after.... 3rd Summer...we opened it up....took the cover off....it looked horrible....took us forever to clear it up...and was sooo expensive.....but we managed....

This summer.... We need a new liner...it's patched a few times from the first time the guy put it in....he sucked... but anyways we are gonna buy one in the fall when it's cheaper...then we go to take the cover off tonight...noticed several tears in it...and all that nasty rain water and leaves that were on top of it...some had got in it...and the water doesn't look good at all...UGHHHH!   So here we go again with the treatments to get the water the way it should be.... Vaccuming it out will do a world of good to get those leaves and stuff out.... Damn pool cover!    If it ain't one thing it's another....

We need some rain something awful....it is sooo dry here.... everyones yards is dying....and the crops need it badly!

Anyways...Hope all is well with you all...

I think of you often.....  Have a great weekend

                                       Hugs,

                                               Terri

  2. Well I have a pool!! It is work this year my pool looked like well.... have you ever heard of the "RED SEA"? Mine was the green sea. lol   A mess! I went to Walmart and got 24 packs of shocked and shocked the hell out of it, got a $26 bottle of clarifier it is a bluish looking liquid and a big bottle of PH increaser and after a week it cleared up just like new!! I had been buying expensive chemicals from the place that installed our pool and decided the hell with that and the Walmart chemicals are just as good.  Oh yea before I did all that I got 10 gallons of clorox too!!!! lol  Now all I do is put the chlorine in the skimmer and shock it every week!!! Our pool is a 16,000 gallon with a deep end.  Not sure the size of yours but it will clean it at a much cheaper price!!!

  5. Pools are hard work and very expensive!  My parents have an in-ground pool and no cover, so you can just imagine how nasty it gets each winter.  I can't wait to see the landscaping!  I love that type stuff.  Oh and I'll send you some of our endless rain!  It feels like it's rained here for 2 months straight now.  It's getting on my nerves!  But we're no longer in a state of drought, so that's good.  We were on water restrictions and the whole bit.  Oooh and even though you deleted alerts, come by mine and Keely's journal sometime...I added tons of pics to both!

  6. We're stuggling with our pool this year too. And no more than they get in it, I'm in the mood for a bon fire too! lol

Hope all is well. What did they ever say about the tests you had at the doctor?

  7. Hear you!  My parents moved into a new house that had a built in... the took the cover off on June 6 to find that it had been covered for 2 1/2 years.  It was BLACK... it had to be drained and scrubbed... acid wash.. you name it.  Took 4 days to refill as the deep end is 12 foot.  It was frustrating as hell, but you can see by my pictures it's good to go now.  Lots of work for a few months, but ya know if you don't have it you'll miss it.

  9. My best friend has an above ground pool, but one of those really large ones (they have a deck on one side of it, that's what I'm picturing you have and it does take a lot of work when it's time to open it up. My Uncle used to have an inground pool and they hated the maintance of it, but loved the pool...a few yrs ago though they filled it with cement and now have a green house! LOL They're close to their 80's and rarely used it.

I can't wait to see the pictures of your front yard! I bet it's beautiful!!!

  10. We are still digging out a small piece of flat land to put our new little three foot by twelve feet tiny pool... and man, I am not a digging type of person as I can't seem to get more than a few inches done per hour.  So I am all ready discouraged.  LOL and I do hate to ask hubby to dig on Father's Day, but the kids are not able to do much either so I hope we can manage it somehow or summer will be over by the time we get it up.  Hugs,
    Lisa
