Since my aunt Judy passed away last march...several people in my family have had strange experiences happen to them...not sure if you remember or not...or not even sure if i told you guys...but one weekend when i was at church, not long after she had passed...i think the following week to be exact... There was a song being sung...that touched me deeply...and of course all i was thinking about was my aunt Judy...and i was crying... I felt someone put their arm around me...and i looked behind me...and there was no one i knew... I knew right then it had been my aunt Judy comforting me....
So mom wanted me to share her experience with you all....some people believe in these strange experiences....and some don't...and thats okay...We do...cause we lived them.
Thanks for sharing this mom....
I Believe There Are Angels Among Us
"Judy,I'm going to go home for a few hours." She would encourage me to stay, the lump in my throat grew larger,as I would hug her and tell her I needed to get away from it for awhile, she understood. I didn't want her to see me cry.
Each time I came home to shed my tears, the unexplainable would happen. Lying in my bed, eyes closed, thoughts running through my mind,I felt my bed move, someones arms wrap around me. Slowly turning,to find no one there. Was I going crazy? I kept this to myself,until...
"Debbie,do you ever think about the cancer?" she asked. Tears in my eyes,I said,"Yes Judy I think about the cancer all the time." Her reply,"Don't worry about it." As I looked at her, tears now flowing down my face,I said,"Judy,I can't keep from worrying about it,I'm losing my Lil Sis and there's nothing I can do about it." She looked at me and said, "I know,I would be just like you if it were you lying here." As we talked, I told her what had been happening. With great enthusiasm, she said,"Maybe it's Mom,maybe she came to comfort you!"
We both smiled at the thought. No longer scared,I let my Mom's warm embrace console me.
The night I came home after Judy passed away,I was so down,so exhausted,I popped the top on a few beers so I could relax. Sleep is not something that comes easily for me,that night I was so tired at 10:00 I laid down. Within 5 minutes I had an experience that is hard to describe,to the point at first I was asking myself, damn Debbie are you going crazy?...I was in my bed,yet my body was also in my living room. There was something large and white outside my living room door,I was walking to the door to see what it was,I never made it to the door but I could tell what it was...The Wings Of An Angel. I could feel my body being lifted up in the air,the glide back down was awesome. I was lifted again and I said,"Judy what are you doing to me?" I knew in my heart it was her. When I glided down this time,I could see my living room in the distance,my body was lying in bed(our bedroom is dark)...an image went across my ceiling twice,I couldn't tell what it was,it then disappeared. I felt a calm come over me like I have never felt before...My Lil Sis had come to comfort me,I drifted off to sleep.
I believe because...I have glided On The Wings Of An Angel.
Awww that's neat. I love hearing about things like that. I truly believe that things like that happen.

I so believe in these things because they have happened to me. I remember a few weeks after my grandmother passed I was in bed trying to sleep and I felt arms around me, it was the most peaceful moment I have ever known.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful memory for your mom to share. Her heart must be missing her so....
My grandmother was a jokster, very funny and right before she died she came out with a joke about she promised not to haunt any of us after she died, I was like GRAMMY dont say such things, even joking I just didn't feel like laughing when I knew we were losing her. But she said she would always find ways to let us know she is still around, and she does. I think that tells us just how much they miss us too.
Hugs to you.

I believe you 100%.

ReplyDeleteI am a firm believer in our loved ones visiting us after they have passed. Many times it's just to say goodbye.. but, more often than not it's to bring comfort to us. To let us know that they are alright, and we will be too.
ReplyDeleteTell your mom to consider herselft honored.. :)
Thank you for telling this story, Terri.. and thank you mother too!

ReplyDeleteI often times feel as if my Dad has been here with me in certain times and situations. It is a strange experience. But a nice one. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a believer....I've been blessed enough to get glimpses from the otherside when loved ones were passing to the otherside...family that had already passed were waiting to guide them to the otherside...conversations were had and messages we shared.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice story and if it happened for real it is very interesting. The power of thought and belief can be very strong. Hope you both have a nice week.

No one will ever be able to explain experiences like these, wether it be a higher power from up above or just the love thats inside of us for lost loved ones trying to console us, Either way it sets our mind off in a different place, that leaves us with one more memory that will be etched in our minds for eternity!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to have taken the time to read through your J as mom suggested ....Judy sounds like such a wonderful caring lady, seems to have been passed down through the generations as well. Terri and mom your both incredible ladies... I'll be thinking of you both often over the next few weeks and do pray that you find the strength to overcome the heart ache once again. Hugs and Love! xoxoxoxo

Terri, I got the chills from this. I totally believe that our loved ones come and comfort us after they are gone. I've heard of many such experiences. Joey and I were discussing this because we've never experienced my dad doing this. I have read that if the person knows it will freak you out it won't happen. Joey is so afraid of stuff like this so I know my dad wouldn't visit him. I'm glad you shared this and glad that your Aunt Judy brings peace to you and your mom and family. Love ya, Chris
