Hey everyone...
Sorry it has taken me so long to come back and bring the results of my sisters biopsy to you, I haven't felt quite so good this week...but the results of the biopsy were NOT cancer in her other breast...such good news! Our prayers were answered.... although she has a long journey ahead of her...that is one less thing she has to worry about.
Marisa will start her chemo treatments monday, mom will be taking her .... I hope and pray she does well with the treatments and doesn't get too sick.... She is a tough, strong girl....I know she will get through this.
Today we are going to be celebrating her son/my nephews 6th Birthday....doesn't seem like Jacob should already be 6 years old...such a big boy now :) His birthday isn't for another week...but with everything going on they are celebrating early...
Happy 6th Birthday Jacob ~ We love you!!!
This week has been an exciting time in my neck of the woods... Extreme Home Makeover chose a family to receive a new home... He is an injured volunteer firefighter who was hit full speed ahead while directing traffic at a fire in 2007.... his wife who is also an EMT I believe was also at the scene and was the one giving him CPR to keep him alive.... their 2 daughters have had health issues as well.... a very deserving family.
Last saturday they were sent away to the Bahamas while the Extreme Home Makeover crew started working their magic along with many local business' and volunteers.... they said it was the biggest amount of people they have seen in years.... Celebs such as Xzibit , Clint Black, Tom Meents(driver of Maximum Destruction monster truck) were there ...Xzibit I believe was there all week long....he was seen renting a car in town ....and some were also seen at Texas Roadhouse and a local country bar here in town.... how cool that they would get out and socialize with the locals like that.... one of the Extreme Home Makeover guys broke his arm at Skates Alive....here in town as well....having too much fun I suppose...LOL
Tom Meents , driver of Maximum Destruction was there one afternoon to destroy their mobile home by running over it with his monster truck.... I think it took 3 tries to demolish it.... I wish we could have been there that afternoon.... Jeff and I both really like Monster Trucks :)
It is suppose to air on tv in Nov/Dec....when I know an exact date I will let ya'll know .....it's not everyday things this exciting happens in our area...lol I should have volunteered it would have been fun, I know several people who did.... I didn't even go to check it out, didn't want to fight the crowds.... they came home from the Bahamas saturday and received their home.....now that all the crowd is gone...within the next week or so....we may go by there and catch a glimpse of their new beautiful home.... I might take a couple pics...
We had evaluations at work this week....I had a great report it seems....I hope my paycheck shows it ...hehe :) I was really pleased at the things my supervisor and manager had to say about me though...sometimes we need to hear the good things we do...it gives us a little boost!
My thoughts and prayers were/are with those who lost loved ones on 9/11.....I meant to make a post on that day in rememberance.....I can't believe it's been 8yrs ago... I remember it like it were yesterday... I was working at a Furniture Factory and we heard the breaking news on the radio and couldn't believe what we were hearing... I remember that exact feeling in the pit of my stomach... anger, sadness, scared and wanting to hold my loved ones for dear life.... Where were you?
Happy 48th Birthday to my stepdad Gary on 9/11...hope you had a great one! Also on 9/11 my cousin Jeremy and his wife Holly welcomed their first born into the world.... a little girl weighing 5lbs 6oz and 20 inches long.... as of the day she was born they were still trying to decide a name for her.... at one point they were discussing Sophia Rose or Olivia.... I haven't heard what name they actually chose....as they live away from here....but I will know soon! Welcome to the world babygirl...I can't wait to meet you! :)
I think that is all the news and happenings I have to share at the moment.... I tried to make a few rounds and read some blogs earlier in the week... I am slowly but surely making my way back home(blogger)....I will be back in full swing in the fall.... I promise
Hugs....

Great entry Terri!!! Up-beat That is good to read! I liked the ending also, good stuff that happens on 9/11. Yeah the little fellows grow up fast. I love to hear your mom talk about him.
ReplyDeleteOf course the best news is Mairsa's report. Yeah you all know about the Cancer treatments up close and personal. Hope all goes well in that arean for Marisa.

PS the family chose for the make over sounds sooo deserving. good on the makeover folks.
Congrats to everyone!
ReplyDeleteLove your new Daughtry header! Keeping Marisa in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear some happy things on 9/11-Happy Birthdays & Congratulations. That is so cool about the Extreme Home Makeover. Hope you can get some pics.
ReplyDeleteAm so thankful to God that your sister's biopsy turned out well. I pray her chemo doesn't make her too ill. My kids' have a childhood friend we have reconnected w/on Facebook. She had 3 cysts on her brain. One the size of a baseball. They finally did surgery. She had some short term memory loss & some other problems, hopefully not permanent-but she got a brain infection. It's been scary, but she's out of the hosital but still has to be on 3 IV antibiotics at home. Scary for a 34 yr old. I hope your sister does not have to go through such trials.
Love n Hugs, Barb
I am praying for Marisa. Cancer is not easy to deal with takes a lot of praying.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your paycheck is more, that will help
in our shopping trips. They have the fall clothes out. I was bad Sunday shopped all day.
Spent more of Jack's inheritance. 2 pair of slacks, 2 pair of shoes, 2 blouse and some undies. Had a good time almost needed help getting my purchases to the car.
Shirl
Praying for Marisa.
