Sooooo... I leave work, get in my truck...pull over to the dock to pick up a bag of shop towels for my stepdad for the Tire Shop.... I get out of my truck...and what did i do...???
Locked the damn keys in it, with it running, with the air wide open...like an idiot!!!!!! We only have one set, thats all it came with when we bought it...you have to get them made at the dealership and they are about 80 bucks! It has a keyless entry pad....but the dude at the carlot where we got it...didn't know the code...asshole! Jeff was already on a jobsite and couldn't come where I was, so he called a locksmith and told him he would go to his house tonight to pay him... thank goodness the guy trusted us enough to do that...he was cheaper than most too...only $40.
Could've been worse i guess, but still pissed me off....lol It ran for 30mins...it was nice and cold when i got in though...gotta look at the brightside somehow =)~
Just when i thought i was having a shitty afternoon.... I had a message on our answering machine that our carpet came in...YAY! It wasn't suppose to come in until the 16th. Not sure when the guy will lay it ~ as we already talked to him about doing it that week. We may do it earlier, or we may keep the plans as they are so we can paint and do what we need to do to get prepared.
Took a couple vacation days tomorrow and friday so I have a 4 day weekend ahead of me...
Today wasn't so bad after all =)
That sucks that you locked the keys in. Can't you get just a spare key made at like Wal-Mart or somewhere for pretty cheap. You don't have to have the keyless entry thing to get in, right? I don't know my car has manual locks(which really suck ass btw!).
ReplyDeleteI think since you know the carpet is in and you wanted to do some painting, get it done while you're off. :) It'll maybe be fun, and you'll hopefully get it done before the carpet is installed. :) Good luck!
Can't say I blame you, but thank god it wasn't me. I could blame it on a senior moment. I can't even put a lol after that. SPArE KEY MADE!!! Lucille
ReplyDeletewhen you buy a car with keyless entry they do not know the code
ReplyDeleteyou have to take your card to the ford dealership and they reset it for you and give it to you.
i know what you mean about having to make the spare key i spent 100 bucks on ours its because they have chips in them makes them so expensive. plus the keyless entry.
i made one for our escape so we had another set and then tony totaled the car...i was pissed.
our explorer came with 2 thanks god.
but that one had the keyless entry so we were right back at the dealer getting that taken care of, lol
sorry you got locked out...carefull not to again before you get the code ;)
em
ps i was reading tiffs comment you cannot have yours made at walmart because it needs that chip.
ReplyDeleteotherwise it would be less expensive and easier, huh.
Doh!
ReplyDeleteAin't nothing crappier than that feeling once you close the door and realize..............Good grief......that's enough for one day....really!
ReplyDeleteAngel^i^
Hmmmmmm...sorry we cost ya 40 bucks!!!!! Last week I got the clothes outta the washer and was headed for the dryer, I caught myself getting ready to throw the clean clothes in the TRASH!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya

I felt the same way today. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at yourself. We went to a furniture store and came out. Tried to unlock what we THOUGHT was our PT Cruiser. LOL Hubby tried the lock and it didnt work. I tryed the keyless entry. Nope. THen i said something like could the battery be dead. haha we look over and our car is 3 cars down.
ReplyDeleteYep, I guess we all have those moment huh.
That locksmith was pretty cheap :)
Enjoy your mini vacation.

lol...i used to lock my keys in the car all the time. one time i even locked pey in the car...the fire department came and got her out of there in no time. Glad the guy took your word and glad he was inexpensive :)
ReplyDeleteYAY for new carpet!! Yeah, I'd probably paint first, then you don't really have to worry about drop cloths.
double YAY for 4 day weekends!!!! have fun!!

I have to laugh because that is something I would do and have done. Actually, I locked my son in our old Escort when he was 2 with the card running in the driveway. He was screaming his head off. I was hysterical. No cell phones 20 some years ago. I had to run next door and get my ex to come home from work. That locksmith was cheap. It would have been cheaper for me to pay the $80 bucks for a duplicate key than get a locksmith. Weird about those keys coz I got three with my Grand Am. The previous owner of yoursmust not have turned the spares in or probably lost them. Love ya, Chris
