Hey everyone..
Hope everyone had a good weekend, why is it the weekends fly by and our work week drags and drags?!?!
Jeff and I have been discussing Christmas...for one another we decided to do home improvements as our gift. I am so excited too...we haven't done anything major in a long while... so within the last few weeks we have been looking at carpet, this week we ordered it for our whole house, well 3 bdrms, hallway and living room...we chose "Sweet Butter" for the color...it's tan. I cannot wait because the carpet in this house is as old as dirt! The carpet should be here in a couple weeks or before...thats when the fun begins NOT! Moving every piece of furniture outta the house from those rooms, what a mess it will be, so during that time I won't be on the computer at all...I will be busy as a bee!
This week Jeff called me at work and surprised me, said he had found us a kitchen table and chairs...for a decent price..he described them to me..they sounded beautiful...it was a cash and carry deal...and it was the only one left...so i trusted him on picking it out all by himself ~ I was kinda nervous to see what it was gonna look like, i won't lie...haha When he got home with it, we finally got it into the house ~ it was so heavy! I will take pics soon...it is a dark cherry...with cushioned microfiber seats a really pretty tannish/brown. All the colors in our home are earthtone colors...we love it cause it seems to go with anything!
You don't realize how flippin excited I am about the table and chairs, cause we have done without one for about 5yrs. now...we got use to eating in the living room on tv trays ...and just didn't worry about it...sad I know..haha! We use to eat at the table every night and talk about our work day and other happenings...I look forward to doing that again!
Yesterday we went outta town to look around at furniture stores...we went to Value City Furniture ~ I love that place! They have beautiful furniture at reasonable prices. We picked out a couple of couch/loveseat sets we both liked, both are microfiber ~ I love that kind, so soft and comfy! Not sure which one we will choose just yet, cause we still want to look at a couple of places here in town before we make our final decision.
We ate at a place called Longhorn Steakhouse yesterday..and it was sooo good...more expensive than Roadhouse..but good for a change.
I didn't do much of anything today...just relaxed...Hope ya'll have a good week!
Hugs,
Terri

Hey Terri, old Mom could update your journal for ya while you are slaving away moving furniture...just teasing! You & Jeff always do a great job of picking out nice things for your home. It will take you longer to move all your teddy bears than it will the furniture. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Mom
Good luck with your furniture purchases - Christmas in September?? Wow...
ReplyDeleteWe're slowly working on adding our own little touches to our house, so I kinda know what you mean. It's lots of work, but worth it in the end. :) I hope you got an awesome deal on the carpet and table and chairs!
ReplyDeleteyay for a new table!! :) AND new carpet!! :) can't wait to see the pics!!
ReplyDeletewe went years without one at all too...we'd all eat at the coffee table. at least it was the right size for Pey at the time ;)
We got all of our new furniture from VCF. I love that place too! Not too pricey but it's good stuff :) We furnished the whole house for what we would have paid for a living room set somewhere else. Good stuff :)

the table sounds beautiful terri i need to shop for a new table set for our home as well we have a small set that was in my first apartment and its falling apart (it was just a cheapo walmart one)
ReplyDeletewe have a microfiber sofa set its so easy to clean! i actually just clean up spots with babywipes
but one word of advice make sure the ones you look at arent down stuffed like ours...we first got ours because they were down stuffed. so fomfy but they start to look like a beanbag chair anytime someone sits in it..sloopy
and since we got them in ca i cannot send them back to be fixed...i will have to "alter" them and stuff them myself.
anyhow
i love the home idea for christmas i may have to ask tony about a table set for us this christmas :)
