October ~ Breast Cancer Awareness

As you all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...and last year I lost my Aunt Judy to cancer...

The pics above are of my mom and stepdads Tire Business...where along with many others in the town...they decided to pay tribute and to show support to anyone who has been touched by Breast Cancer in some way.

It's called "Paint the town Pink"

          Mom said it was done...

           In memory of Judy

           In memory of Angel's mom

           In memory of Trish's sister

In loving support of Jlands Pink Warriors:

                    Kim

                    Trish

                    Christina

and many others in Jland, in which my mom  has not crossed paths with yet.

In loving memory and support for all families who's lives have been touched by cancer!

It looks beautiful mom ~ Love you

* Read about Paint the town pink, a couple entries back if you missed it, due to alerts lacking...if you want to.

  2. Oh Terry, thank you so much for shareing.  I have lost a son, a husband and all of my siblings.  I hope I have been able to give your mom an outlet and a chance to talk about her. It feels good to be able to talk about the ones we lost.  So many people are to uncomfortable to talk about death.  I can tell you miss her also.  They did a great job and your Aunt Judy would be proud.  Lucille

  3. The shop looks great!  My mom has now battled breast cancer two times.  I had a great Aunt die from breast cancer and my grandmother also had breast cancer.  We didn't even know she had it until she died.  Cancer Awareness touches my heart dearly.

  4. You guys have pushed me into tears this morning as you add MY Momma to your blog. Dear God, I'm so grateful to you and your Mom this morning. I know Aunt Judy and Mom are sitting around on some bench, in Heaven, looking down & feeling such pride for what you have done in their honor.
Thank you. Thank YOU so very, very much.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss. Aunt's are very special. I have three Aunts's (My Mom's sisters---God rest Mom's soul) who have all been touched by breast cancer. My one Aunt had a complete mysectomy and could not have any breast augmentation done because of the anatesia. She is also diabetic. Today she is doing great, coming up on her 10 year anniversary.
The window looks fantastic! I will be sure to post something on my journal.

    You take good care!
    Huggers & love,
    Gayla
