Hey everyone...
Thursday afternoon...early evening my sisinlaw, my 7yr. old niece..and their dog went for a walk around their neighborhood as they have done for years... out of no where a Pit Bull charged through the screendoor of a home and attacked their dog... my sisinlaw said their dog was screaming and crying out for help...my sisinlaw then started trying to get the Pit Bull to let go...and she screamed out for someone to help her... a teenager from that house came out and helped her...but in the process my sisinlaw was bitten by the pit bull... It bit the top of her hand...she had to get 8 stitches... it could have been much worse...my poor little niece had to sit there and see it all... I can't imagine!!!
I'm not usually scared of many dogs...but Pit Bulls do scare the crap out of me...their dog ended up with a few wounds but is doing okay...
We went over there last night and took the dog some treats from Beau(our chihuahua)...and took my sisinlaw a Fazoli's giftcard...as she won't be able to cook much for a bit. She seemed to be doing okay, still in shock I believe...said she hadn't slept but maybe 30 mins. the whole night...
So please keep her in your thoughts as well as my niece...she keeps saying "Mama get it out of my head" cause she keeps thinking about it over and over...I suppose like a constant image of what had happend replayed over and over.
Not doing a whole lot this weekend...today I am washing the bed linens...and other laundry...we flipped our mattress..we need a new one so bad... I'd like to get a pillowtop...we've been talkin about it.
The UFC fight is on Spike tonight for free....it would have been a pay per view...but this time it's free... so we're gonna watch that tonight...and just relax at home.
Hope ya'll have a good weekend...
Hugs,
Terri
Terri, OMG hope your SIL is ok, sending up prayers for her, Hugs Lisa
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! I'm so glad that your SIL and your neice ...and the dog are all okay. I feel the same way about some dogs. If you own a dog like that, I think you HAVE to take the precautions to keep the animal and anyone around it safe from harm. It IS in their nature to be aggressive.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you guys to help out and bring some treats for the pup :)
We got one of the memory foam mattresses for the new bed. OMG! Best sleep ever! It feels hard when you first lay on it but then you sink in and it's heaven!! It was cheaper than the nice pillowtop too...about the same price as a middle of the line pillowtop. Scan those sale ads ;)
The UFC is a huge deal at Chris' work...I thought it was PPV too, hopefully some folks still go in to watch it at the bar! Bernie needs some new curtains! ;)~
Take it easy girl :)

Oh my it could have been so much work. Anything happen to the other dog? The owners? Sounds like that dog needs to be taken care of. I hate that thought but what if it went after a child? Sounds a bit dangerous to me. Sending good thoughts and hugs to all of you

That's very scary! Our neighbors two dogs were in their front yard one day(we didn't know they were) and came running after my little Emma(she was on her leash like you're supposed to have them). Keely was in her stroller and Emma wrapped the leash around the stroller. Brandon literally kicked one of their dogs across their yard, and picked up the other one and threw it. They're not pit bulls, but just some ugly mutts. I haven't seen their dogs in their front yard since, and if I ever do I'm calling the city about the leash law policy. It was ridiculous. They were standing right there watching, didn't even try to get their dogs to stop or anything. Didn't even say they were sorry after the fact. We haven't spoken to them since. I wish they'd move. I worry about Keely being in the front yard now. What if they tried to attack her. Maybe we should have reported them when it happened, but we really didn't think about it. Anyways have a good weekend. Hope your SIL's hand heals as well as her doggie.

Hey Terri, although you had already told me about it, I had tears in my eyes reading this and thinking about how much worse it could have been. I can't understand why anyone would want a pit bull. Keeping D & S in my thoughts and prayers that the trauma of all of this doesn't have a lasting effect emotionally.

WoW! I am sorry to hear that about your sister-in-law. That sounds pretty scary. When I was 2 I got attacked by a dog and had a lot of facial lacerations. I am so glad I don't remember anything. I am sure if i did, I would be pretty afraid of dogs. I am such a dog lover though. On another note, Pit bulls do scare me. Whenever we see them when I am on a walk or something. I try to walk the opposite direction. I have just heard too many stories about those dog.

Sorry to hear about that incident with the pitbull. They ought to be banned - I understand they're not illegal in the States. They are in the UK.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, it could have been much worse...Thank God they all are still alive....People that do not control their dogs do not need them...that dog should have been in a pen, or on a leash or the house door locked...
ReplyDeletelove ya,
carlene
OMG!! Thank goodness they are all okay. Pit bulls scare me also.

God, my brothers love the UFCs! Ryan watches it sometimes too. Except when footballs on. lol Wow that is some experience that your SIL and neice went through. I pray they can put it behind them. I've been attacked by a dog and it is very traumatic. I was attacked by a German Shepard but it don't really matter what the breed is, it's the way the owners treat them and bring them up. That's a shame that those people did that to that dog. I hope you have a fantastic week Terri!!! Love, Shelly
ReplyDeleteHi Terry Ann!!! I sure do miss you!! How are you? That is awful about the sis in law getting attacked like that. Those pitbulls are so unpredictable. So sorry to hear she had to get stitches. I will never have a pitbull for this reason. So sweet of you to take her a Fazoli's gift card since she won't be able to cook. Hugs,

How horrible! I am so glad your neice wasn't attacked. I hope she is able to talk about it. It might even be a good idea to have her draw and color a picture of what happened to work through it and get it "out of her head" poor baby. I am so glad your sil wasn't hurt worse and that their dog is okay, but 8 stitches is still pretty bad. Was that dog up-to-date on its shots?

Went to the dog pound looking for a pup for my daughter by marriage~and we walked upon a cage with a rottweiler and on the other side of the walkway, a pit bull. I had to warn my littlest to keep his fingers AWAY from the rott. And although that pit was scary looking, he was timid and docile, and actually sweet. Never woulda thunk it. I felt so bad for the Rott, as he was just mad as hell to be there. Barked non stop while we were there. He had a chip, but no one was claiming him.
ReplyDeletePoor niece! (And sis) I love Fazoli's! Hope they get back to normal. That really sux!
Hugs to all!

I'm glad that it wasn't more serious. I'm not a big fan of pit bulls either. Hope you had a good weekend and that your week will be nice as well. Take care.

pit bulls should be muzzled as should any dangerous dogs be. its the irresponsible owners who should bear the sentence. the dog is only doing what the owners trained him to do so destroy the dog and put the owner in the can

I love Dogs!! But I fucking hate pit bulls. I think it is irresponsible to own them. They are great one minute and flip out the next. There is a pit bull that lives across the street from us and we told them that if that dog attacks any animal or human we were going to pull out our gun and shoot it. I don't trust them at all. I would be afriad too. Hope she is feeling better and the owners paid for her ER bill.

Hi this is Lucy. Your mom and I have become fast friends with out even seeing each other. Shje makes nice comments on my Journal and has been very supportive, through a rough time for me. So sorry to hear about your niece and sis-in-law. I am a dog lover but I am leary of Pit Bulls.
ReplyDeletePits bulls scare me also. Your poor little niece had to be terrified. Hope your SIL is healing. Wow, you hear of those things happening. My BF has a pillowtop mattress. It is like sleeping on a cloud. I really would love to have one. Joey has one on his bed but it's older and not as nice as the newer ones. Have a good week! Love ya, Chris
