The Christmas Shoes
By: Newsong
It was almost Christmas time
There I stood in another line
Tryin' to buy that last gift or two
Not really in the Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing 'round like little boys do
And in his hands he held a pair of shoes
His clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say
Sir, I want to buy these shoes
For my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes
Are just her size
Could you hurry, sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If mama meets Jesus tonight
He counted pennies
For what seemed like years
Then the cashier said
Son, there's not enough here
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me
He said mama made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without
Tell me sir, what am I going to do?
Somehow I've got to buy her
These Christmas shoes
So I laid the money down
I just had to help him out
I'll never forget the look on his face
When he said
Mama's gonna look so great
Sir, I want to buy these shoes
For my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes
Are just her size
Could you hurry, sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful
If mama meets Jesus tonight
I knew I'd caught a glimpse
Of heaven's love
As he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God had sent that little boy
To remind me just
What Christmas is all about
Sir, I want to buy these shoes
For my mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes
Are just her size
Could you hurry, sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while

I watched that movie this afternoon and cried my eyes out...if you haven't seen it i urge you to rent it.....Rob Lowe is in it along with Brad Paisleys wife, can't think of her name for nothing right now...but I want to buy that movie i hope it's easy to find...That song has always made me cry so i knew the movie would as well.
I rented a few movies to watch while i am on vacation
*The christmas shoes ~Rob Lowe
* Alpha Dog ~ Justin Timberlake
* Devil wears Prada
* Rumor has it ~ Jennifer Aniston
* Come early morning ~ Ashley Judd
Haven't watched the other four yet...wouldn't ya know on vacation and i got up at the crack of dawn, dunno why i couldn't sleep in...so i got up and have done absolutely nothing today....besides read journals and watch that movie.....gonna go clean house in a little bit.
We went to my best friends sat. night for the UFC fight...we had a good time...we had bbq pork sandwiches, ribs and wings... I didn't have much as I am trying to diet...it's hard during the holidays!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at my MIL's yesterday as well as my nieces 8th birthday party....we had a great time. My niece got dance mania for a gift...and she and my SIL were doing that and cracking me up....then they decided to do karaoke to my nieces Hannah Montana cd...it was cherished memories for sure, I would have given anything to have taken my camcorder and had that all on video it was hilarious... I love my SIL she is so fun and crazy!
I just wanted to hop on here and tell ya'll about the christmas shoes movie...and share the video with clips from the movie.
Hope you have a good week....
Until next time...tootles
I don't know if I could handle the movie ~ The video was enough to use up a box of tissues. I am so happy to hear your enjoying your time off and are able to spend it with family. Hope lots of happiness finds you during this holiday season. Take care and enjoy,

ReplyDeleteI liked the song and I have seen that movie like a couple of years ago. Being the sentimental chick I am of course I had a couple of tears. Thanks for sharing. : )
