Missing you....Aunt Judy

Tonight we should be at your house, having dinner together, talking..and laughing like many years in the past...but tonight i feel so alone...so sad...feel such a void without you here...

I miss the simple things in life that I took for granted..as life got so busy...picking up the phone just to say hello...coming by to visit just because...needing someone to talk to and knowing you were there....I feel as though in the end when we knew you didn't have much time left with us...that I cheated you in some way by leaving words left unspoken...things I now wish I had said when I had the chance, but instead I held my feelings deep inside ..when in all honesty I wanted to scream...PLEASE DON'T GO! Knowing in my heart I was being selfish in wanting to keep you here, but i wanted your suffering to end as well...and knew the only way that could happen is if we(your family)...let you go....God was calling you home...he needed another Angel.

    Missing you, again this Christmas

I love you always and forever

                  Judy

  1. Aw, Terri, I believe she knew your unspoken words.  It's so hard to get through a holiday when someone so vital is gone.  I still miss my dad and it's been 13 years.  It will get somewhat easier.  I hope you can smile through those tears.  Love you, Chris

  9. My dear daughter Terri,
Judy wanted nothing more than what you gave to her, you loved her with your whole being. She knows your heart is breaking, she comes to comfort you without a word, yet you feel her presence. We will always have thoughts cross our minds of unspoken words we would like to share with her, I have no doubt she knows and feels our love for her.
    I love you,
      Mom

  11. Terri, I do know how you were feeling.  I truly do not know if I was even on the computer yesterday.  It seems this year I fought to get through Christmas.  Alan would have been mad at me.  It just seems we get through it somehow.

  14. Awwww Terri, your entry made me cry. I had several aunts and I was close to all of them but I was especially close to two of them. They both have passed. One lived in the same town as I did when I was growing up, Joan. The other lived an hour away Ruth. Aunt Ruth brought me to her house every summer for a week or two. All her kids were grown and they treated me like a daughter. She even set me up with a date when I was 14. The guy was 18. We went to a drive in movie WITH his mother and his sister. LOL And he lived 2 states away, was only visiting. He used to drive up to see me at least once a month. Needless to say my parents weren't thrilled but he was a gentleman and treated me with respect. We wrote almost daily. When I was 16 he showed up and we had a wonderful weekend.  He asked me to MARRY him. That was the furthest thing from my mind. He was serious. He wanted to get married that summer. I said no. I knew I wasn't ready. The letters came fewer & fewer but I learned my fiirst lessons about love. Yes, my Mom's gone too. A long time, but when I got a card & letter from her last remaining sister. Her kids and grands live out of town but close. She's had to put my Uncle in a care home. So I've had my Aunts on my mind. The glorious Holidays when we were children and Aunts who treated me like a daughter. So I know how you miss your Aunt Judy. If I could turn back time to one day...today it would be to one of the massive Christmas Eve gatherings at my maternal grandmother's farm. The day started at sunup when Mom was up cooking, we'd get there by 9am or earlier and the day ended when everyone was too tired to play cards anymore or the  men were drunk enough to be persuaded to wake up the kids and go home. Your Aunt Judy is always with you. She sounds like a wonderful woman. Take care, hon. I'm thinking of you.
I hope you and Jeff have a Happy New Year.
    Hugs, Barb

  15. You know Terri, I always tell people that it will get easier, but it really doesnt does it? I was sitting in front of the Christmas tree last night  thinking of my grandmother and how much I miss her, and its been 6 years. Im afraid that hole from missing them will always be there. I know there in a better place, but I still cant help wishing they had more time here with the ones who love them.

    Hugs to you!
