Jeff's mom has a blocked nerve in the bottom chamber of her heart, the Dr. don't feel as if it's a threat...he said her heart is really healthy other than that. She had 2 EKG's ran and both came back abnormal like before...but he said they always will because of the blocked nerve. She gets the heavy feeling alot of times after she eats...in her chest and back...and belches alot after eating.... They are thinking she may have acid reflux.... He started her on some meds for that...to see if it helps any. She is feeling good this evening.....her sister is staying with her tonight... just to be with her.
Tomorrow night we are having a slumber party over at my cousins house(my aunt Judy's 14yr old daughter)....She is having surgery Monday on her back...she has scholiosis...and will be in the hospital for 5-7 days...and is out of school for the rest of the school year, they wanted to get it done asap....and said it couldn't wait till she was out of school for the summer. So tomorrow night she is having her whole class over for a weinie roast.... her first boy/girl party...she is so excited. She is also glad we are having a family slumber party....i told her when i was her age i prolly would have been mad, that both were on the same night.... having family and friends over @ the same time...when you are young and trying to "party" with your buds....haha She said "yeah i know....i don't want the adults to be down there the whole time, cause some of my friends tend to cuss"....I just laughed.... She doesn't see me and my 20yr. old cousin Jess as adults....they are wanting us to hangout with them....this should be interesting...LMAO
What she doesn't know is ...the family is making her a care pkg. for them to take out of town with them(where the surgery is)...so when she gets out of surgery and has all that time to spare...once she is in her room and alert....she will have gifts to open....and things to do... I still haven't got my gift yet... i am getting it tomorrow.... any ideas..? They are having a jewelry, purse, sunglasses...etc sale at work tomorrow....maybe i can find her something there. Some people got her like...Chicken Soup for the teenage soul book....and some magazines....etc... I have no clue what to get her.....Iwant to get her something she can use.
Anyways...please keep Chelsey(my cousin)...in your thoughts and prayers that her surgery comes out fine! Thanks bunches
I may be behind on alerts for awhile...seeing as i won't be online tomorrow at all....I will be around to visit in time =)
Have a great weekend.....
Hugss.~Terri~
Get her a cross stitch kit. Will take up some time, and she'll have something to show for the work!

Does she have a GameBoy or a personal DVD player, a bit expensive but maybe several of you can chip in together on that one. Some find a word books, a journal of colored paper and some gel pens, and envelopes and stamps... ponytail holders, glittery makeup and a handheld mirror, People Magazine for TEENS, Harry Potter books, playing cards, one of those posters with the felt and magic markers... some spritzy perfume from the drug store, a neck pillow with the fuzzy fabric... gum, chocolate, CD's and a player for the music, batteries... a journal and a pen... an autograph toy for all the nurses to sign. Wrap some of those presents so she'll have one small thing a day to open and look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI am a mom of three beautiful grown daughters and one grown son.... loads of practical experience.

ReplyDeleteGet her a cool journal but first write a page on how much you love her
ReplyDeleteTerri, I love your new sidebar! Awesome! And I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. Hope everything goes ok with her. And your lil cousin too. Will praying for her. I have scholiosis as well but it isn't that bad. At least not bad enough for surgery. So I feel for her. Anyway, good luck picking out something nice for her care package and have fun at the party! : ) GBU, Shelly

Keeping Jeff's mom and your cousin in my thoughts and prayers. Those Chicken Soup books are awesome, so whoever bought that was a good idea. Since I'm late you've already bought something, guess you will have to tell us after the party. I hope you all have a great time! Every girl deserves a party : )

Party sounds like so much fun. Some good news about your MIL. I'm sure they are going to monitor her heart periodically? Will keep her and Chelsey in my prayers. Hope she has a smooth operation and quick recovery. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteTerri,
ReplyDeleteMy neice had scoliosis and they did surgery on her a few years ago. It was a success but boy was she in a lot of pain afterwards. I don't know if they are doing the same type of surgery on Chesley, but.. are they putting a rod up her spine to straighten it? That's what they did for my cousin. It made her a whole 2 inches taller! She loves that!
I will keep her in my prayers!
Hugs,
Jackie
