~ Are you the one ~
Are you the one who helped,
To ease our heavy sorrow,
The day our loved one went away?
Perhaps you came to be with us,
Giving a hand shake or a hug,
And possibly a shoulder to cry upon that day.
Could it be that you're the one,
Who helped to lift our heavy hearts,
When you told us that you'd pray?
Maybe you ministered to our broken
spirits, fed our weary bodies, or
sent a nice bouquet.
Should we live to golden age,
always your kindness and love we'll remember,
knowing that just a simple "Thank you"
are not adequate words to say.

* This was one of the poems on the In memory cards at the funeral home...I will be posting another shortly.
I want to take this time to tell each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.....
for everything from.....comforting comments, and emails...coming to the funeral home(Pam)..... ecards(Gwen)...etc....I am truly grateful ~ I am so blessed to have each and every one of you in my life....Who ever said you couldn't find some of your best friends online..? I know i sure have!
Some have asked how my grandad is handling this as well as Chelsey and Mike(Judy's daughter and husband)....
My grandad is having a pretty rough time, I mean no parent wants to see their child go before them, and he just lost my grandma 7 years ago this month(30th)....so this is a tough month for him anyways....now for 2 reasons...the loss of his wife and daughter......he is finally getting some rest and eating well i believe....and he has family around ALL the time...we will pull him through it....like we did when my grandma passed....hopefully....he is a very strong man. He too was at her bedside when she passed....i believe there were about 21 of us there....all of her brothers and sisters, her daughter, her husband,my grandad, a few aunts, and neices....as well as 3 of her sister~in~laws. We all shared in this together, and i am sure we will all grieve together at times....
Her daughter Chelsey...is holding up fairly well....she has her moments when she breaksdown as we all do... but i'm telling you...for her being 14yrs. old and handling it like she is...she is one tough cookie ~ she always said even when her mother was going through her cancer journey...that she was going to remain strong for her mother....and she is holding true to her word. She had many many friends there for her over the weekend at her house....and her whole class came to the funeral. I told her whenever she needs me i'll be there....night or day....i'm just a phonecall away....she has always held a special place in my heart!
Her husband Mike....is holding up very well....I don't think reality will hit him until it's just him and Chelsey at home by themselves.....they have had all of us there nonstop...not only for this past week ~ but like i said in past entries....many family members that could were there throughout the week at night to say the rosary with them. So when they are alone in the silence, i believe is when it will really sink in for the both of them.
Thank you all for being concerned and asking about them...on behalf of my family...i say... "Thanks" ...also.
Hugss...~Terri~
Hugs to you Terri

Terri,
ReplyDeleteI wish there were something more I could do. Just know that we're all right here for you. All that's left is time to heal. Prayers and hugs to you and yours. You're so sweet to offer to be there for you cousin. She's going to need a lot of extra love and hugs. Take good care. Barb
I truly believe the hardest times after a loved one passes is the week following the funeral. By that time, the numbness has worn off and reality sets in.
ReplyDeleteBut not to worry...the faith your family so obviously has will get them through this. You all seem so supportive of each other.
Take good care of your granddad. I can't imagine how horrifying losing a child must be. I don't care how old the 'child' is.
Take care of yourself.
XO,
bridgett
"Are you the one".... That is so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it probably won't hit them until they are home alone. That's when it will really set in that shes gone. Though, no one that we love is ever truly gone. We carry them in our hearts and each heart beat is a memory of them.
Hugs,
Jenny
That was how it was when my dad died after everyone left and time slowed a bit is when it hits...
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourselves
I will continue to pray for you all
