This morning I had to work 4 hours....I came home at 10am....rested awhile....while Jeff mowed a couple bank branches.....then he came home picked me up and we went to mow Coca Cola.... for the first time i mowed the 3 acres myself on the zero turn mower....I mean I had rode on it at my moms just playin around before...but i didn't know how to handle it enough to actually mow with it...but Jeff knows I had been wanting to learn....so today he taught me =)
At first I was zig zaggin along and couldn't mow a straight line if i wanted to...cause they are so touchy....I almost gave up...Jeff said...you will get the hang of it...and off I went....
I did get the hang of it, and I enjoyed it...I got a little sun on my white legs.....so now when Jeff really does need my help with the lawncare business....I can actually run the zero turn mower if needed.... Go me!
He said I did a really good job, I think so too if i do say so myself....BUT....
You knew there would be a but didn't you...hehe
I knocked one of the front tires off the rim and it went flat...lmaoooo! We were done mowing though...thank goodness....it didn't damage the tire, just knocked it off the rim and went flat...cause i tried getting to close to a concrete slab.... i'm new at this....i'm allowed a few mistakes.... ****Giggle****
I tried making baby back ribs for the first time today, I cut the rack of ribs in half and let it cook in the crockpot for 6 hours, got it out....layed it on a pan and poured BBQ sauce on it...and baked it in the oven on 350 for about 30-40mins....they were soooo good and tender!
Hope ya'll are having a good weekend....
Until Next time......
I just had to ask Scott what a zero turn mower is and I'm STILL not sure. LOL I've never mowed a lawn in my life . . . . I'd be in HELL with my allergies.

I bet you had fun on that mower. :) At least your little issue happened when y'all were done. ;) HEHE.
ReplyDeleteNow that ya know how to use it, instead of comin' over and playin' around, I'll sit on the patio drinking a few brews, smokin' my cigs, and enjoy watchin' ya makin' my yard look all spiffy...breathin' a sigh of relief...aww I worked my ass off today, LMAO!!!!

Hey there girl, Sounds like the 2 of you can go in the lawn care business together.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was fun to learn that riding mower. So what is a tore or 2 mor 3 or 4 for that matter. Baby back ribs sound wonderful. What do you do at the hospital or whatever care facility you work at.? Lucy
I think I would love working for a landscaper or mowing business. I like being outside, I like getting dirty, and I'm sure the pay is good. Those ribs sound really good.

Those ribs sound absolutely delicious!!!!!!!! Oh I remember these days of helping with mowing for our lawn clients and I sure do miss it. I loved driving the Dixie Chopper and miss it so much. I drool on them everytime we pass the Dixie re-sale mower shop in our little town. I keep telling Rob he needs to go back to having mowing clients because it's pretty steady extra side work for us most of the year. I think I will have to keep working on him about it though. He says he is enjoying home improvements more but it's not as steady unless we can find a way to kick up our advertising and referrals. Mostly all our advertising is word of mouth because it's so expensive. I have been too sick to pass out flyers but I think maybe it will help me feel better again to just get out there and do that again. I can just see you out there having a great time. It is such a good feeling to help your husband isn't it?! You did really good!!! I remember wearing my swimsuit and shorts so I could tan my shoulders while on the Dixie. You brought a lot of memories back for me on this entry!!! Hugs,
